'Showtime Special' was an event hosted at Redcliffe Hotel in Paignton, Devon to help raise funds for Children's Hospice South West, a charity dedicated to caring for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
The organisers of the event approached me to design a new advertising poster for them, to help drive more people to the event and to raise as much money as possible. I therefore took inspiration from variety show posters and incorporated the classic "name in lights" theme, along with a glittery effect for the various call-outs. The artiste images were supplied by the artistes themselves, apart from Pendulum 5 for which I was responsible for the photography.
The main aim of the poster was to have clear call-outs for the event name, venue details, and entry times and prices. Upon completion the client was very happy with the outcome, describing it as "absolutely wonderful". The poster also helped to drive a total of over £800.00 for Children's Hospice South West!
